This is making progress towards the end point of the project which will provide clean water to irrigate the crops and prevent the time consuming need for transporting water by barrel. It will also provide wider benefits for the local community who currently do not have clean drinking water and are prone to waterborne disease such as diarrhoea, typhoid and hepatitis. The clean drinking water will be available on tap and prevent disease. Phase 2 This is currently underway to provide the irrigation system. Phase 3 This will follow with the installation of a 3,000 litre storage tank and the installation of solar panels to provide electricity to power the pump. |
