Para 1.38 | OKLR can only operate by volunteers maintaining and operating the locomotives, carriages, permanent way, buildings and infrastructure. We have actively sought out younger volunteers to ensure stability as the original membership are less able to contribute. This has also benefitted our public out-reach on our web-site and social media. |
Volunteers also make a financial contribution through membership subscriptions, locomotive storage rent and other fundraising activities. Other

Para 1.20 | OKLR operated for 77 days during the reporting period with 9,897 passenger journeys. In addition, restoration work progressed on a number of locomotives, bogie coach and infrastructure improvements continued. Events held in conjunction with the Rural Life Living Museum include Village at War, several school visits and behind the scenes visits. |
