the age of 18 who have been deemed to
have a lack of mental capacity as defined in
the Mental Capacity Act 2006 and/or have

under the age of 18 years who are suffering
from disability or ill health, and their families
through the provision of goods and/or
services.

At all times the trustees have had regard to
the guidance issued by the Charity
Commission on public benefit which has
been incorporated into all our planning for
the period’s activities and has governed the
work that we have done throughout the
period. We have regularly reviewed the
guidance during our trustee meetings.
The charity has mostly spent the funds
raised in the period by purchasing essential
items for local children, who are disabled or
severely ill. The remainder was spent on
running costs and the small remaining
overspend was taken from funds held in the
bank account.

although Torbay Bikers for Kids had been a
fundraising group for the 5 previous years
(1stOctober 2017 to 9thNovember 2022).
65% of the money raised in the period was
due to the chair’s husband raising funds for
the charity with the hire of his personal
collection of funeral hearses and wedding
cars, with driver, where the money for their
hire is donated directly to the charity.
The charity has had excellent feedback on
social media and in personal messages from
all the parents and guardians of the children
the charity has purchased essential items
for, including how the essential item has, or
will, improve the life and or, education of the
child.
