Overvlew of Actlvltles to D#te Since our r¢gt$tration on 10th October 2022, Saving Strays Animal Rescue has nwle significant Strides in fulfillin8 our mission of rescuing and rehoming animals in need. The charity hgs been involved in a variety of key a¢tiviiies, some of which have been both rewarding challenging. 55gnllle#n¢ Acllvlil l. InfrastNctur¢ Review.. As ihe charity grew. we realis¢d the irnportance of reviewing and refining our iniernal infrastructure. In the past, we wer¢ very eJger io tske in any animal thai needed help, which resulted in unsustsinable costs and high vet bills. We have b¢come more sel¢¢tive in the anim•l3 we c assi& tskin8 a mor¢ realistic approach ¢0 th¢ number of res¢ues we ¢an manage. 2. Expansion of Equine Off¢rin8.' W¢ also expanded our work to include equines. a¢knowledgin8 the wowing need foT equine rescue in our commuttity. This was a positive developrnenl bul it did require adjustments in both finances, resour¢es and experti$e. We Continue to learn and adAp¢ as we take on this new area of animal rescu¢. FINANCIAL REVIEW FlnanelAI posltlon We have maintained acCUe and UPtd4¢C records of re¢eipts and invoic¥. ensurin8 transparen¢y in all financial matters. However. we have faced ¢hall¢nges in balancing the wwing costs associ4ied with vet bills. especially in the early Stages when we look in animals without fully understandin8 the financial impact. With the tr¢turing of our operations. we are now more diligent in asse$5ing the financial viability of each res¢ue. Chall¢nges F4¢ed.. Rising Vei Costs.. One of the bi88esl challen8es we have faced is the ovetivhelming cost of vrferinary ¢are. As rescue, we have often been presenied with animals thai requir¢ si8nificant M1¢1] tr¢aimenL whi¢h has l¢d ro 5ub51antial vet bills. This hts been a constant strain on our fmances. - Volunt¢eT Relationship$.' One of the more Silfican1 and challen8ing events we faced was taking legal ll10n against a fonner volunteer over unpaid w bills for animals paid for by the rescue. As a re$ul( we are now more cgutious and selective about how we work with volunieer5 and ensure that we have cl¢ar contracts and expe¢¢atiotJs in pla¢¢. Sustainability.. In the early months, our rescu¢ operations w¢re not always 5usiainable. •s we did noi have a ¢l¢ar framework in place for mana8ing incomin8 4nimal$, vet bill4 or fundraising efforts. Thi$ rnade u5 re•li5¢ the impottsn¢e of having a strategic approa¢h to ensure the long-tenn viability of the charity. Pa8e I
