Overvlew of Actlvltles to D#te
Since our r¢gt$tration on 10th October 2022, Saving Strays Animal Rescue has nwle significant Strides in fulfillin8 our
mission of rescuing and rehoming animals in need. The charity hgs been involved in a variety of key a¢tiviiies, some of
which have been both rewarding challenging.
55gnllle#n¢ Acllvlil
l. InfrastNctur¢ Review.. As ihe charity grew. we realis¢d the irnportance of reviewing and refining our iniernal
infrastructure. In the past, we wer¢ very eJger io tske in any animal thai needed help, which resulted in unsustsinable
costs and high vet bills. We have b¢come more sel¢¢tive in the anim•l3 we c￿ assi& tskin8 a mor¢ realistic approach ¢0
th¢ number of res¢ues we ¢an manage.
2. Expansion of Equine Off¢rin8.' W¢ also expanded our work to include equines. a¢knowledgin8 the wowing need foT
equine rescue in our commuttity. This was a positive developrnenl bul it did require adjustments in both finances,
resour¢es and experti$e. We Continue to learn and adAp¢ as we take on this new area of animal rescu¢.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
FlnanelAI posltlon
We have maintained acCU￿e and UPt￿d4¢C records of re¢eipts and invoic¥. ensurin8 transparen¢y in all financial
matters. However. we have faced ¢hall¢nges in balancing the wwing costs associ4ied with vet bills. especially in the
early Stages when we look in animals without fully understandin8 the financial impact. With the ￿tr￿¢turing of our
operations. we are now more diligent in asse$5ing the financial viability of each res¢ue.
Chall¢nges F4¢ed..
Rising Vei Costs.. One of the bi88esl challen8es we have faced is the ovetivhelming cost of vrferinary ¢are. As
rescue, we have often been presenied with animals thai requir¢ si8nificant M￿1¢1] tr¢aimenL whi¢h has l¢d ro 5ub51antial
vet bills. This hts been a constant strain on our fmances.
- Volunt¢eT Relationship$.' One of the more Si￿lfican1 and challen8ing events we faced was taking legal ll￿10n against a
fonner volunteer over unpaid w bills for animals paid for by the rescue. As a re$ul( we are now more cgutious and
selective about how we work with volunieer5 and ensure that we have cl¢ar contracts and expe¢¢atiotJs in pla¢¢.
Sustainability.. In the early months, our rescu¢ operations w¢re not always 5usiainable. •s we did noi have a ¢l¢ar
framework in place for mana8ing incomin8 4nimal$, vet bill4 or fundraising efforts. Thi$ rnade u5 re•li5¢ the impottsn¢e
of having a strategic approa¢h to ensure the long-tenn viability of the charity.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
Reserves policy
The tnjstees believe a working capitsl of £l,l)00 i5 an acceptable l¢v¢l of resetves. Ai the wiod end unrestricted funds
aTnount 10 £17. Thi$ is well below the d¢sired working Capit￿ tarBet and the tsILSt¢e5 recognise the need for urgent
fiujding through donations and grants.
GolnE concern
The financial stat¢ments have been prtpared on the going ￿ncern b&8is as the trLLSt¢es are confident they can bring in
the n¢¢essary fijnding to ensure the continuation of the charity. Further grant fijnding was secur¢d after the year end and
the chtrity was on a rnore firm fmancial footing by th¢ approval date of this repo
FUTURE PLANS
As we mov¢ into the next year. we are selling out a ¢kar and achievable strate8y to stren8then ow foundation and
expand our reach. Key areas of focus include..
l. Gen¢rating Transportation.. One of our primary goals is to esthblish A reliable trgnsportation System that will allow u$
to more etTi¢i¢ntly mov¢ animals to safety and to appropriate foster or pernianent homes. This will a150 help u5 redtsr
the dependency on ext¢rnal transport services, which h&8 been a logistical chall¢nge in the past.
2. Acquiring a Centre.. Our long-temi aim is to acquire a central facilty for the charity. where we can better house and
carc for the anima15. This will provide us with a pernJan¢nt base of operation5 and allow us to offer more comprehensive
services to the community. includin8 animal c8r¢ ¢rninin8 Iiro8ram8.
3. Expanding Fundrnisin8 and Gr•nt Applico1ions.' W¢ recognis¢ the imwrthnce of securing additional fimding to
$upport our work. Over the next 12 months, we plan io expand our fiJndr4isin8 efforts and grow our grant appli¢ation
team to ensure a more 5UStainabl¢ financial future for the charity.
4. Reviewing Mark¢iin8 and Outreach: W¢ will conduct a thorough revi¢w of our m4Tketing efforts. aiming to increase
our visibility and rdise awar¢ne5s aboui the work w¢ do. This includes reviewing our website, social media presence, and
publi¢ relation$ Strate8ies.
S. Staff and Voluni¢¢r stn￿l￿re Review: A Crucial part of our Strategy is to review the Structure of our staff and
volunteer teams. As we con¢inue to grow. we aim to ensure th* we have the righi peopl¢ in pla¢¢ with clcar Toles and
responsibiliiies. This will also inclyde reviewing how we egn better support our volunte¢r5 and stsff, ensuring a positive
and effective working environmeni.
6. Becomin8 an Employer and Generating Jobg: We want to ¢xplore how we can b¢¢om¢ an employer wlthln the loc•1
¢ommuttity, generating job opportuniiies tha¢ contribuie lo both animal w¢lfare and the local e¢onomy. This may include
positions in animal Care. administration. and fundraising.
7. Collabordting wth Local Schools and Colleges.. Once we acquire a central facility. we aim lo collaborate with lo¢al
s¢hools and colle8e$ to offer educational programs. Thex prognm5 will provide young people with hands-on
experien¢e in animal ¢*e, while also raisin8 aworen¢ss abo￿ the importance of animal welfar¢.
The past financial year has been a period of Bro￿, learnin& and adaptstion for Saving Strays Animal Rescue. We have
faced several chall¢nges, bui we have learned valuable lesson5 thai will shap¢ our fithre direction. As we moye forward,
we are excited obour the possibilities and committed to a¢hievin8 our 8oaL% for the nex¢ 12 months, which will ensure a
more sustainabl¢. impacffiil, and responsible res¢ue operation.
