The Charity operates through the support of volunteers including the trustees and annual show organising committee which meets on a regular basis throughout the year.

The Charity has a health and safety risk assessment and volunteers assisting on the show day are given a health and safety briefing.

The object of the Society is to promote agriculture, horticulture, equestrianism, and the rural environment, raising awareness for the public benefit within the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire, and in particular but not exclusively the Borrowby and Knayton areas of the district.

The Society aims to hold an annual agricultural show and gymkhana for the exhibition of farming stock, crafts, produce, and handicrafts.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

The Society held a successful annual show on Saturday, 29[th] July 2023 which was well attended by circa 1,700 visitors.

The show included multiple exhibitors in the sheep, cattle, equestrian, and fur (rabbits and guinea pigs) classes; a demonstration of heavy horses; a display of vintage agricultural equipment; and over 1,000 entries in the horticultural and handicraft exhibits in the main marquee, including crafts and art work produced by local school children.

At the show the Society provides free exhibition space for local charities, including Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
