Building Bridges Food Hub is a registered

local residents who have fallen on hard
tmes so that they may receive subsidised
shopping, providing them with dignity and
choice. The clients make a small but
notable contributon to the shopping and
the remainder is paid for by the charity.
Clients who are eligible to join pay a
membership fee. They can then choose up
to 20 items from a weekly updated list
online and can choose to pay online or
with cash. Families can order up to two
baskets weekly. Clients then book a
collecton slot and pick up their shopping
each Saturday.

contnue to refect our aims. In carrying

Achievements and Performance

SORP
reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identfying the diference
the charity’s work has made
to the circumstances of its
benefciaries and any wider
benefts to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 We contnue to enrol new members as
well as looking afer existng members - we
now have more than 175 members
registered to use our online social
supermarket. In August 2022 we averaged
10 baskets of shopping distributed to local
benefciaries a week. In August 2023 this
had more than doubled to 23 baskets of
shopping per week! In the last year we
have improved our social media presence
now on Facebook and Instagram.
We have been successful in bidding for 2
grants in the last year and this has secured
the charity fnancially for the last 12
months, so any donatons from individuals
have been accumulatng. We contnue to
receive gif aid which is used for any admin
costs. The physical work is done on an
entrely volunteer basis and we have no
employees.
We aim to apply for a natonal lotery
administered grant to improve our digital
and physical infrastructure in the
forthcoming year.

Financial Review

Review of the charity’s
fnancial positon at the end
of the period
Para 1.21 Within the last year income for Building
Bridges Food Hub exceeds costs ,
predominantly because of grants received
in the year. On startng the food hub in
Sept 2022 we supported 10 families per
week, by Aug 2023 we supported 22
families per week on average. An average
basket of shopping costs £18-£25 per week
and members pay £3 towards this so it
costs the charity £15-£22 per basket. There
are minimal overheads as you have the
premises rent free , no staf costs etc .
Statement explaining the
policy for holding reserves
statng why they are held
Para 1.22 The reserves policy is £2,000 as the annual
running costs are only insurance and
equipment . If our income from
donatons / grants / gif aid were to fall we
would reduce our actvity so we would not
operate at a defcit
Amount of reserves held Para 1.22 £2,000
Reasons for holding zero
reserves
Para 1.22
Details of fund materially in
defcit
Para 1.24 No funds held in defcit
Explanaton of any
uncertaintes about the
charity contnuing as a going
concern
Para 1.23 We have regular donors and grants
income. If either of these were to
decrease we would decrease our actvity
accordingly, but we have no concerns
currently about operatng as a going
concern
