Para 1.17 and
1.19
Bosnia Trust has been actively
collaborating with Community Outreach
UK to empower families and help them
achieve sustainable independence.
Through this partnership, we have
provided essential resources, such as
Cows and Greenhouses, to enable
families to support themselves. These
initiatives are designed to improve their
livelihoods by fostering self-sufficiency,
promoting agricultural development,
and enhancing food security. By
equipping families with the tools they
need to thrive, we aim to create long-
lasting positive impacts within the
communities we serve.
In 2024 we supported Widows with a
Counsellor; we gifted Greenhouses and
Cows to families in hardship; we
supported Emergency Flooding Relief
Efforts; we gave food via Qurbani.
Statement confirming
whether the trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit
Para 1.18 The trustees have had full regard to the
Charity Commission's guidance on
public benefit in the course of their
decision-making and activities. We have
carefully considered how the charity’s
work and objectives contribute to the
public benefit, ensuring that our actions
are aligned with the principles outlined
by the Charity Commission. In
particular, we have ensured that our
services and programs are accessible to
those in need, with a focus on delivering

meaningful and tangible benefits to the public. The trustees are committed to upholding these principles in all aspects of our charity’s operations, ensuring that we continue to meet our legal obligations and act in the best interests of the communities we serve.

Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 In 2024 we collaborated with Community
Outreach UK, the charity continued its
mission to relieve poverty and support
vulnerable communities in Bosnia
through a variety of impactful actions.
Some of our key achievements include:

Employed a Counsellor: We hired
a professional Counsellor to
support widows with their mental
health, recognizing the emotional
and psychological challenges
they face. This intervention has
helped improve their well-being,
offering a sense of support and
relief.

Gifting Greenhouses: We
provided three families with
greenhouses, empowering them
to grow their own food and
improve their food security. This
initiative has allowed these
families to sustain themselves
and improve their economic
stability.
Gifting a Cow: One family
received a cow, which has had a
positive impact by increasing
their ability to produce milk and
generate income. This will help
improve their long-term
sustainability and self-
sufficiency.
Family Follow-up: We revisited
four families who had previously
received gifts, such as Cows and
Greenhouses. Three of these
families are thriving, and the
cows are proving to be a valuable
asset to their livelihoods.
Unfortunately, one family
continues to face challenges due
to illness and extreme weather
conditions that destroyed their
greenhouse. However, they
remain resilient with ongoing
support.
Support for Emergency Flood
Efforts: We donated £2,500 to
support flood relief efforts in
Bosnia, providing critical
assistance to those affected by
the floods.
Qurbani Food Distribution: We
distributed food in the form of
Qurbani, ensuring that those in
need had access to vital nutrition
during a key time of the year.
Through these initiatives, the charity
has made a significant difference in the
lives of its beneficiaries, alleviating both
immediate hardship and fostering long-
term sustainability. These efforts have
contributed to the wider societal
benefits of community resilience,
economic empowerment, and social
support, especially in times of crisis.

Achievements against
objectives set
Para 1.41 In 2024 we collaborated with Community
Outreach UK, we successfully achieved
our objectives by delivering key items
and support to families in need,
including:

One Cow was gifted to a family,
helping improve their food
security and income.

Three Greenhouses were
provided to families, allowing
them to grow food and sustain
themselves more effectively.
These actions were in line with our
overarching objective to alleviate
poverty and support individuals and
families in Bosnia, contributing to their
empowerment and well-being.
Performance of fundraising
activities against objectives
set
Para 1.41 Bosnia Trust has maintained a strategic
approach to fundraising by supporting
Community Outreach initiatives rather
than directly fundraising for internal
projects. This has allowed us to focus
on delivering impactful programs while
building our internal capacity and
systems.
In 2024, our fundraising efforts for
Community Outreach were particularly
successful, raising £15,293.96. This
amount was generated through various
initiatives, including:

Sarajevo Half Marathon: A key
event that helped raise significant
funds for our programs.

General Fundraising Platforms:
Additional funds were raised
through online platforms,
broadening our outreach and
support.
This approach has enabled Bosnia Trust
to continue delivering projects that have
made a lasting difference while growing
our capacity for future initiatives.
