In selecting individuals for appointment a5 charity trustees. the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO. Day to day management of the Charity is delegated by the Trustees to the School's Management Team which consists of Head Teacher and Deputy Head Teacher. The trustees meet with the School Management Team not le55 than four times a year to ensure that the school is being run in accordance with the objects set out in the Charity's onstitution. The Trustees also regularly visit the school during its hours of operation to liaise with the School Management Team and other members of staff as appropriate. The Trustees, together with the School Management Team, have put in place appropriate policies and procedures in those areas of greatest risk of the Charity, namely Safeguarding. Health and Safety, Data Protection and Equal opportunities. Training in respect of these areas is also provided on a regular basis. all the School's teachers, administration staff and volunteers are DBS checked and undertake appropriate safeguarding trainings to equip them to carry out their responsibilities for the child protertion effectively. Summa of the main activities: This period was the 18, operational year of the Polish Saturday School at St Mary's College and 3 year as registered charity. School overview: The Polish Saturday School provides education in the Polish language and culture to children and young people aged 3-16. Classes are held on Saturdays between 9.30 and 12.30 during term time, in classroom5 rented from St Mary's College. This year, the number of pupils ranged between 160 and 185. The school operated for 30 Saturdays, offering approximately 110 hours of face-to-face educètion overnll. Pupils were organised into 11 classes, taught by 15 teachers with the support of 14 teaching assistants and volunteers. The curriculum followed the Core Curriculum for Polish Supplementary Schools designed by ORPEG, covering Polish language, history, geography and culture. The school places particular emphasis on athve and engaging teaching, using high44uality resources to stimulate imagination and support leaming. The year 202412025 began with strong 5UPPOrt from Polish institutions. including the Polish Language Development Institute, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Republic of Poland and the Senate. which contributed to enhancing educational resources and the learning environment for pupils. In September 2024, the school received funding the Polish Senate. Thi5 contribution significantty Strengthened the school library, expanding its resources and improving access for pupils as well as the wider community. Subsequent funding from the Polish Language Development Institute later in the year enabled the acquisition of five laptops, a printer, and a range of new textbooks and workbooks. thereby greatly facilitating teaching activitie5 and lesson preparation. In November. the school reteived a grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Republic of Poland to organise the Independence Ball for children. The Ball took place on 16 November with over 21XJ attendees. The funding covered the cost of hiring the hall, music equipment, catering, and prizes for participant5 in history competitions. On the same day, the school hosted lectu$ by Mr Kazimierz. the son of a Polish airman who fought in the United KinEdom during the Second World War. These events highlighted the school's mission to nurture Polish history and traditions among pupils and the wider community.

Funds were used for stage decorations and festive refreshments. The event was open to the public, allowing member5 of the community living in thè UK away from their home covnlry to experience traditional Polish Christmas celebrations. sing Polish carols. and enjoy traditional dishes. In the same month, two new initiatives were launched by the Polish Language L>evelopment Institute to formallv recogni5e the achievements of teacher5. volunteers, and pupils. The Bon dlo Nouczycielu programme acknowledged the dedication and contributions of 29 slaff members, while the 8on dlo Ucznio initiative rewarded 16 pupils for their tommitment to Polish language 5tvdies and their financial need. These initiative5 not onl¥ promoted academic excellence but also encoura8ed equily and inclusNity within the school community. In March, the school organised a poetry tompetition, the winners of which represented the Polish School at an interschool competition "Wierszowisko" in Manchester. On 11 May, during the official competifion in Manchester. the school team took first place in the group otegory and third place individually. This success reflect5 the SCI0[,$ potential and demonstrntes that its educational initfatives are producin8 tan8ible results on a wider stage. On 27 June, the school telebraied Polish Heritage Day, marking the l(KK)th annNersary of the coronation of King Boleslaw Chrobry. The event took the form of a family-friendly picnic attended by several hundred people. Funding provided by the Minrstry of Foreign Affairs Republic of Poland covered catering, equipment hires, and field rental. The day offered a rich experience of Polish history and culture. promoting community en8agement and providing attendees the opportunity to spend time together in a family-oriented setting. Throughovt 202412025. the school consistenily priorifised the promotion of Polish traditions and community engagement. All planned events were successfully irnplemented. ensuring a rich and comprehensNe programme of educational and cuttural activitie5 for pupils and the wider community. The support received, and the initiatives undertaken during the year collectively contributed to a Strengthened educatr.onal environment, enhanced fesources. and a vibrnnt school culture that fosters learnin8, achievement. and community involvement. The year has been the most intensive and produttive in recent history. All objectives were met and, in many cases, exceeded. The implemented project5 far surpassed the expectations of both organiser5 and participants. further Strengthening the school's position and enhancing the attracttvene55 of the opportunities it offers. The Polish Satljrdoy School continues to thrive as a dynamic. well-resourced, and effectively managed institution, fulfi'lling its choritable objectives and delivering substantial benefits to pupils and the wider community. Senior Cltsb: The Senior Club has experienced flurtuations in attendance this year. though it continues to enjoy considerable popularity amon8 the oldest Polish residents of Hull. This year. the school did not receive funding from the Polish government for the club's activities, which limited the purchase of resources and the opportunity for consultations with specialists, reducing the overall attrartiveness of the meetings. Nevertheless, the members of the Senior Club remain actively engaged in school life. The group is supervised by a designated staff member. who involves members in various activities to develop their hobbies and interests. In the comin8 year, promotion of the Senior Club is planned to encourage greater participation among older members of the community and to ensure its continued vitality- Library." The library continued its athvities and expanded its collection this year, thanks in part to a grant received from Stowarzyszenie WspoSnota Polska, funded by the Polish Senate, to support its operations. This grant allowed the sd)ool to cover ongoing costs related to the library's functioning, purchase a laptop. and acquire over 100 books.

On 11 May 2025, the school's representatives achieved first place in the group cate80ry and third place in the individual category at the prestigious Wierszowisko poetry compelition. This year. Six pupils from the school who took the final national GCSE exam in Polish received a 8rade 9.
