| responsive budgeting training and online resources. WWBG works closely with our sister organisations across the UK to advocate for gender equality and gender budgeting in the UK, producing cross-nation budget analyses and organising cross- nation assemblies and conferences. WWBG acts as a bridge between research bodies and the women’s movement in Wales to ensure that economic research in Wales provides robust evidence, making the case for changes that help women in Wales achieve their potential. |

Achievements and Performance
| SORP reference | ||
|---|---|---|
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | This year, we have continued to raise awareness of how gender budgeting can increase equality with Welsh policymakers. We have done this through: Regular meetings with Welsh Treasury officials. Membership of the Budget Improvement and Impact Advisory Group (BIIAG). Providing oral evidence (on invitation) to the Senedd Finance Committee on their Draft Budget 2024-25 (Jan. 24). We have also developed materials for a bespoke Gender Responsive Budgeting training course for local and national government in Wales. This course which will provide government officials with the tools to understand and respond to the gendered and intersectional differences in their communities and make fairer spending and policy decisions as a result. We will be delivering this session to government officials in March 2025. We have also raised awareness of gender budgeting amongst the public and increased the capacity of the wider women’s sector to engage with economic issues through: Producing statements in response to the UK Government’s Autumn Statement (Nov. 23) and the Welsh Government’s Draft Budget (Dec.23) and circulating these via the WWBG website and social media. Organising and participating in a 4- Nations webinar with our sister organisations in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the UK entitled ‘The Autumn Statement: A 4N Debrief,’ which discussed the implications of the Autumn Statement for women across the UK and within the devolved nations (Dec. 23). Organising and participating in a cross-nation panel discussion of the UK Government’s Spring Budget 2024 entitled ‘WBG 4-Nations Budget Review: A Gendered Analysis of the Spring Budget across the UK.’ This hybrid event took place the day following the |
Spring Budget publication in Portcullis House, Westminster (March 2024). During the event, each WBG presented a gendered analysis of the Budget for women within their respective nations, followed by an informative audience Q&A. We have produced a number of evidencebased, gendered analysis of economic and public policy which make the case for gender equality in Wales. This includes: Written response to the Senedd Finance Committee pre-budget inquiry A written response to UK Parliament Inquiry on the Impact of the rising cost of living on women (Nov. 2023) Welsh Government Draft Budget Briefing, summarising our written and oral evidence from our budgetary engagement this year. This briefing was circulated widely to Senedd Committees and individual Members of the Senedd.

Independent examiner's report on the accounts
Section A Independent Examiner’s Report
Report to the trustees
Wales Women’s Budget Group
1 September 2024
On accounts for the year ended Charity no (if any)
1199336
Responsibilities and basis of report
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 01 / 09 / 2024 .
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination (other than that disclosed below *) which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
-
the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
However, we were not able to trace one invoice totalling £5,171.03, although we have received representation confirming that this is charitable spend.
