W8 continu8 to off8r a Sunday Moming Young Church activity on th& first and third Sundsy mornings of each month. Our regular Wednesday morning prayer gsthering continues to be held online every Wedne8d8y at 9am via Zoom. Pastoral Care The church generally offers weekly small group sctivities for Christian education. prayer and 5UPFK)rt 8ither in the sanctuary or online via Zoom. During Lent we held an ecumenical stu(ty Series based on the book l Thirst by Stephen Cottrell on Wednesday evenings. In Holy WÈÈk. mÈmbÈrs of our congregation and gUQStS galhÈred for a bring-and.sharÈ mÈal and famity friendly Hdy Communion service on Maundy Thursday. In April, the church provided an all-day First Aid tralnlng course for 9 members of the congregatlon. Some of our church m8mb8rs are unable 10 8tt8nd serwices and activiti88 du8 to sicknes8 or age. Our minist8r, Robert Parkin80n, h88 Vlsited 811 who hav8 r8qU&Sted it, and conlinu8s to s88k out those Mth pastoral n88ds and to meet, support, and prdyNVith them in their homes wherever appropriate. Our membership numbers remained stsble. Two people joined our membership bul, sadly, one died. and we dosed the reporting period wth a metnbership of 50.

Friday Friends. tnet every Friday tnoming in the sanctuary fro 10.303m until 12.30pm. While all are welcome. the event largely attracts older petsp In need of ¢ompany and social Int8raction. Between 8 and 15 people wer& usually in all•ndanc&. The Church agr88d to prepare to run an Alpha Course in the Autumn of 2023 a8 on8 way of introducing others lo the Christian faith. A team w88 recruited, and Alpha team training sessions were held in June 2023. Ecumenical Relationship8 Didsbury 8aptisl Church is a rnernbei of Churches Working Togelhei in Didsbury. Our tnini51er. Robert Parkinson. attends regular Clergy and Leaders. gatherings and the church participates in the annual pulpit exchange and in services and events organised bythe group. We participated again. for example, in the annual ecumenical Pulpit Exchange during the Week of PrHyerfor Christian Unity Hnd in the annual eGutnenical Lent Course. We also participated in the annual Fe Churthes, Friday Service that took place at East Didsbury Methodist Church. Didsbury Baptist Church hosted the ecumenital World Day of Prayer In March 2023. The Church Building In fulfilmenl of the church's alms to seNe the people of the local area, th& premises are used by many community groups and for a great variety of ¢ommunity a¢tivities. The sanctuary reguladyfun¢tions as a concert venue, rehearsal spate. and day-conference site. It is used regularly as a polling station and as a hub for community gathtrings. The Church commis8ion8d a Quinquennial Buildings R8view in January thst idenlifi8d variou8 Item8 r8quiring attention. These were noted and prioritised. In July, work w8s carried out to repair FK>inting failures on Several of the buttresses, as well as repair work to the boundary wall of the property. Further pointing failures on several remaining buttresses were identified and the trustee5 are planning for repairs to be carried out soon, in addition to the other itnprovetnents noted in the buildings review. The additional expenditure which will bp quid has been included in the budgetfor the 202312024 financial year. General Fund ReIpts Thanks lo the continued generosity of members of the ¢hur¢h and cOr[egatiOn £33.438 was rèceived through general giving. These donations are made predominantly by slanéing order. but the taking of an offering during Sunday worship services was reinstated during th& period and has led to an Increase in cash giving compared with the two pr&vious financial years. Ther8 wtre also somt donations via lh8 Charilits Aid Foundation, 8 one-off donation direct lo Iht church and some misc8118n8ous donations for sp8cific purposes, including the Impact Week8nd. Donations of £240 nominated specrfically for the hardship fund were made. A thanksgiving offering was taken in May lo celebrate payng off the loan on the manse.
