South Charlton Village Hall Annual Trustees Report For the year l April, 2024 to 31SI March. 2025 Constitution: South Chartton Vllla8e Hall ISCVHI is the location of the charity, which is also named South Charlton Village Hall. a Charitable Incorporated Organisation {CIOI. run by volunteer trustees for the benefrt of the community. The Charity became a CIO in June 2022. Trustee5 continue to refer to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit.. GUIDANCE Public benefrt: the public benefrt requirement IPBII Trustees registered with the Charity Commission:_ Susan Courty, Susan Jackson. Andrew Grey, June Lawson, Michael Stafford, Lorna Turner Ob ectives and Artlvltles: In summary. the objects of SCVH are to maintain a Village Hall, and to promote activities to improve the community life of the inhabitants of the villa8e and surrounding area. This was achieved as a re8ular meeting place. and whilst user numbers have dropped, SCVH is widely regarded 35 a beneficial community asset. The Trustees met regularly to convene activities which promote social and spiritual well- bein& buildin8 community resilience and cohesion. Volunteers helped the trustees to run clubs, lunches and soclal events. makin8 good use of the excellent facilities, which are regularly maintained and inspetted by relevant authorities. Flnancial Revlew The Accounts are produced on a Receipts and Payments basis and are independently examined. Funding is collected by donation. and Trustees seek to promote hall and equipment hire to enhance income. As a rural village charity. SCVH has experienced the challen8e of competing with bigger events and activities further afield. However, in view of recent residential buildin8 developments, and more people in the area, there remains the potential of a vibrant community hub. This yearfs financial loss will be cushioned by the relatively substantial reserves. The trustees declare that they have approved the trustee< report above.
