Objectives and Activities The objecis of the CIO are- For the public benefrt. the promotion of sociul inclusion and equality and dwersity for transgender people in the Nottingharn5hire region, who are often socially exduded due to prejudice and historic injustice, through: al provision of a local peer-support group. Wbth regular in-person and online sijppon events in order to enable members of the transgender communtty to participate more effectively with the wider communlty. bl involvement in other events in orderto develop our member's individual capabilities, competences. skills and understanding and advancing the cause of the local tr3nsgender community in terms of equality and diversity.- cl the provision of small. targeted grants in order to assist members experiencing financtal hardship a550ciated with their arcumstance5. For the purpose of this clause 'trar.sgender" includes 311 people that have a gender identity or gender expression that differs from the sex that they were assigned at birth. For the avoldance of doubt this Is inclusive of. but not limited to, transgender. non-binary. genderAuid and gender questioning individuals. The trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities the charity should urbdertake. The charity Is grateful forthe contribijtion of volunteers tothe operation of the 5UPPOrt groups. socials and management of our social media irh the year. Due to limited fundin& these voluntary contributions are essential for us to provide the maximum support to the community that the charity can achieve.
Notts Trans Hub Charity registration number: 1199241 Achievements and Performance 2022 has been the foundirbg year of the Notts Trans Hub as a registered charity. Our founding grant was donated by the unregistered charity Trans Spate Notts tTSNI which subsequently ceased operations in November 2023. We are very grateful to the effort of the trustees of that charity and all that they achieved as well as their trust in Notts Trans Hub to cany forward the role of providing peer support for trans people in the local aa. Much of our work this year has been invofved in setting up the organisation and setting up regular support groups and socials. Our in-person and online events have provided the local communtty with a place to connect with others and èvoid social exclusion. Many of those we assist are in early stages of meilical or social transition and we believe our serViS provide a public benefit by supplement those support services provided by public bodie5. Although we only operated for around half the year, we Ofganised a total of 15 different events with an average attendance of over 10. At the end of the year our private 51xial media membership grew to over 650 member5 Flnanclal Review The financial results are set out in the following statement of financial activities. The year ended 31 December 2022 shows a net surplus of £1504 enabling the tharity to carry foDward unrestricted funds of the same amount to be used in furtherance of its charitable objectives. Given the charitable company has only been esrablished for a short period of time. the Trustees are pleased with how the charitable company has been performing financially. At present, the trustees consider our reserve policy to be one where we aim to hold 5ufficieftt funds in order to enable the chartty to operate over the next twelve months. This policy reflerts the risks associateij with being reliant on grants from third parties, with these being decided tjpon on an annual basis. Such a rese¢ve level will enable the charity to continue providing 5UPPOrt whilst seeking alternative grants. As of the year erbd. we have sufficient reserves to cover such an eventuality. The trustees have assessed the major risks to whith the charttable company is exposed. and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate exposure to the major risks.

The charity is regulated by the Charity Commi551L. The charity has been fonned under the "3550ciation modd", enabling our membershrp to democratically elect the trLtsteeship. As wtth most CIOS, our governing document is our COltUtion as adopted on the 23 June 2022. In order to found the organi5ation, willTrn8 ¥olunteers put their names forward to be trustees in the first year of the organisation. A full election for all trustee positions took pla on the 18 March 2023 in Order to ensufe the full agreement of our membership going forward. As per our constitution. the Chair is elected by the dernocratic choice of all trustees and any missing trustee roles, up to the maximum of nine, may be appointed by remaining trustees during the year.
