The objects of A Church are the advancement of the Christian faith for the benefit of the public, together with the relief of financial hardship and support for the wider community through charitable giving.
Public Benefit
The trustees confirm they have had regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit. The church provides a place of worship and pastoral support open to all, and contributes to charitable causes locally and internationally.
Main Activities
During the year ended 5 April 2024, the charity undertook the following activities:

Reserves Policy
The trustees aim to maintain free reserves of 3–6 months of operating expenditure. At year end, the charity held a closing balance of £35,388.17, which the trustees consider prudent.
Investment Policy
The charity does not hold any investments. All funds are held in the charity's bank account with Lloyds Bank.
6. Plans for Future Periods
The trustees intend to continue advancing the objects of the charity. Key priorities include:

Hoasung Kim is the Chair of Trustees and serves as the charity's pastor. The housing support was provided in connection with his pastoral duties and is included within 'Ministry expenses & honorariums' in the accounts. 8. Independent Examination

4. Notes to the Accounts
Basis of Preparation
These accounts have been prepared on a Receipts and Payments basis in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 and Charity Commission guidance for charities with gross income of £25,000–£250,000.
Taxation
A Church is a registered charity and is therefore exempt from income and corporation tax on its charitable income and gains.
Trustee Remuneration and Benefits
During the year, housing support totalling £19,599.75 was paid to Hoasung Kim (Chair of Trustees and pastor) in connection with his pastoral duties, comprising: Rent £17,496.00, Council Tax £1,305.00, and utility bills £798.75. This amount is included within 'Ministry expenses & honorariums' in the Payments schedule above. The trustees are satisfied this was authorised under the charity's governing document and made in the best interests of the charity.
