Hats and forfeits and introduced our hardback photo album. We are a well-being tonic and should be prescribed on the NHS!

1. Chairman's report: Steve

Last 12 months losses and gains

Lost Alan Wellington and Anthony Jones (RIP) gained new volunteers Caroline Wellings, Andy Richards, Euan sparrow, Paddy Scmidt and Fiona Jones.

a) Highlights

BAVO award winner, 100th passenger rides attended by Porthcawl mayor and consort. Wonderful Christmas dinner at the Atlantic Hotel with bumper Christmas cards for those who couldn't attend. Acquired new trailer. QR code for donations plus card readers (will need to organise training for these). Established recognition as dementia friends with Kathleen, Bob and Steve in conjunction with Bridgend Dementia Society. Dementia ambassador training on hold until local trainer found. Dragon boat fundraiser on hold as needed for funds altered.

b) Secure shelter update

Three ongoing options

1. BCBC to rent us a container in Hillsborough Car Park alongside Pantry box but still planning delays.

2. Marina in the RNLI compound, approved in principle however last time Steve spoke with Harbour Master there might be an insurance challenge. Unable to get latest update from Jay, the Harbour Master as he is on compassionate leave, as his wife is ill.

3. After initial approach to the Hi-tide back in 2023, we were welcome to approach them after the regeneration plans had been finalised. However subsequent to this Paddy Schmidt, friend of the owner, has suggested an answer could be an adapted unit on trailers similar to the sauna now sited there.

c) Looking forward Dealer mechanic servicing Cariad and tending to Lilibet's electrics on the 30th of January 2025. Volunteers for riding companions to aid struggling homes – Rosie Anne Bob Christine Leslie Wilma Volunteer drivers – Ian Steve Wilma and Leslie.

Lllysgwyn Home back with us, Thursday afternoons from the 6th of February 2025.

Porthcawl 200 year anniversary this year. Need ideas on how to be involved. Ian will follow up. Phil also mentioned the veterans event.

Royal Golf Club cheque presentation 12 noon on the 8th of February. Anne and Leslie volunteered to ride and Wilma will organise.

Wilma will also seek liaison with Sandville. Steve has a speaking engagement at Trinity church and invited all to seek out other possible venues.

2. Treasurers and DBS: Caroline

Current balance £9300. DBS has been problematic but things should improve. Steve to Action trustee report for Lloyds.

3. Trishaw and training: Ian

Training needs to include both trishaws as there are some subtle differences. More mutual encouragement to bolster under confident riders and perhaps also refresher training for those who have been ‘out of the saddle’ for a while.

4. Fundraising and Dementia training: Kathleen

Kathleen reminded us about the ease and effectiveness of easy fundraising, especially the app which does all the work for you. Currently we have raised £280 for 2024.

Kathleen, Bob and Steve are now dementia Friends after an invite from the dementia Society and hopefully soon can progress to Ambassadors once a local trainer is found. Kathleen, conscientious as ever, also handed out leaflets on five key messages from dementia friends.

5. AOB

Andy volunteered to update our tabards (Steve to give him a sample with correct spelling). Kathleen to ask Paul about regular weekly maintenance checks. Explore possibilities of riding trials with the trishaw tops off.
