To provide a social hub for men (but not exclusively for men) to reduce social exclusion in the community, to practice woodworking skills using facilities they would not otherwise have access to as well as promoting a greater awareness of environmental issues and developing a positive attitude towards the reuse, repair, repurposing and recycling of materials with an emphasis on reducing waste.

Objects: The Object Of The CIO Is ‘to Promote Social Inclusion For The Public Benefit By Preventing People (particularly, But Not Exclusively Men Aged 18 Or Over/older Men/older Men And Women, Within Brightlingsea And The Surrounding Area, From Becoming Socially Excluded, Relieving The Needs Of Those People Who Are Socially Excluded And Assisting Them To Integrate Into Society Through The Provision Of Facilities In Which They Can Meet Jointly Or Individually To Undertake Creative, Physical Or Recreational Activities, Learn Or Pass On Skills And Knowledge And Support Each Other Socially".to Provide Opportunities For Friendships, Social Interaction And Skill Sharing In A Safe And Enjoyable Environment In Which Members Can Meet, Socialise, Carry Out Creative Projects Acceptable To The Shed And Of Their Own Choosing, Either Individually, Cooperatively Or For The Benefit Of The Wider Community.to Promote Good Health And Well-Being To Its Members Through Active Participation And From Time To Time Provide Opportunities For Relevant Health Organisations To Raise Awareness Of Good Health Strategies For The Benefit Of The Membership.
