Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document
To advance any charitable purpose as the trustees sees fit, in particular, but not exclusively, by grant funding other charities that focus on tackling modern slavery, human trafficking, and other such financial crimes, and who support individuals who are victims of such financial crimes.
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)
Themis Foundation was established in March 2022. This report covers the period of March 2022 – April 2023. Much of this time was spent planning our activities and areas of focus for the coming years. In March 2023, the Trustees reviewed the work undertaken to date and reviewed the plan for the coming year.
In developing our strategy and plan of activities we have at all times placed the objectives of the Themis Charitable Foundation at the centre of our decision making. We have had due regard for the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit when planning our activities.

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
The Themis Foundation was established in March 2022. This is our first Trustees Annual Report.
During our first year of operation our achievements included:

Setting up the bank account

Setting up a conflict of interest register
-
Meeting 4 times in the year to discuss our strategy and action plan for the coming year.

Researching possible sources of funding including grant making bodies, and submitting an application for funding (which was unsuccessful).

Researching and shortlisting small charities, which could be potential partners in furthering the aims of the Themis Foundation.

During the financial year ending April 2023, Themis Charitable Foundation received the first quarterly instalment of funding from Themis International Services Ltd. This funding is provided to cover the running costs of the Foundation.
The Foundation’s bank account was set up in March 2023. We received one quarterly instalment during the accounting period, and we did not begin any fundraising or similar activities until after the bank account had been set up.
