TRUSTEES REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2025 The Trustees present their annual report together with the financial statements of the charity for the vear ended 31 March 2025. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policie5 and comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Companies Act 2006, the Memorandum and Articles of Association and AccoLJnting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charitie5 preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland effective l January 2019. The reference and administrative information on page 2 forms part of this report. Structure. Governance and Management Friends of Newark Castle and Victorian Gardens is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation with a Foundation model constitution. It wa5 re815tered as a charity Dn 25 March 2022. The charity was established under a constitution that established the objects and powers of the membership organisation. Recruitment and Appointment of the Board of Tru5tee5 The charity's constitation states that there must be a minimum of three Trustees. Every Trustee must be appointed by a resolution at a properly convened meeting. The charity strives to ensure that Trustees have the relevant skills, knowledge and experience required for the effective administration of the charity. New trustees are usually identified from amongst the local community and are asked to declare any conflicts of interest. The induction process for any newly appointed trustee comprises an initial meeting with the Board of Trustees and receipt of 3 copy of the constitutiorTr, copy of the m05t recent annual report and accounts, copy minutes of previous Trustees, meetings and a copy of the charity commission guidance Yhe Essential Trustee,. The Friends held a series of open days at Newark Castle to raise awareness of the Gatehouse Project, explain more about the historic significance and importance of the landmark and to raise funds for the Charity. Trustees, Responsibilities in Relation to the Financial Statements The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards Iunited Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Prarticel. Company law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year, which give a true and fair view of the state of aff3irs of the charitable company and of the incoming resources and 3pplic3tion of resources, including the income and expenditure, of the charitable company for the year.
