Chair’s report for the Charity Commission for year ending 31 December 2023
The Green Island Holiday Trust (Charity number 1198244) began on 1 June 2023 and superseded Green Island Holiday Trust (Charity number 1003975). The new charity is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
The monies from the previous charity were transferred to the bank accounts for the new charity.
The Green Island Holiday Trust Trustees are committed to providing holidays for people with other abilities, in many cases enabling their carers to have a break, but also ensuring the holidaymakers have a great time.
There were two successful holidays run under the new charity, at Wraxall Yard near Dorchester Dorset, one in June 2023 and one in September 2023, and the holidaymakers reported having a very enjoyable time.
We held a successful fundraiser in early September – a Golf Day at the Bramshaw Golf Club in Hampshire. The Trust was also given some substantial donations by individuals.
On 31 December 2023, Mrs D Dunford was the Trust Chairman, together with Trustees Dr J Arnold, Dr P Dickins, Mrs A Ketteringham, Mr R Martin and Mr R Nye.
Mrs H Spencer became the Treasurer for the Trust and Mrs A Poate was the Minute Taker.
Mrs J Davies and Lord Iliffe are Patrons of the Trust.
None of the Trustees nor the Volunteers received remuneration from the Trust.
