mentoring programme for girls in two senior
high schools in the capital Accra. In
addition, a guest speaker programme has
been established with another school to
widen the reach of our support. We work in
partnership with

the terms of this arrangement.
Activities
Most of the delivery has taken place face to
face with mentors and guest speakers
attending O’Riley and Labonne Senior High
schools in conjunction with our partner
organisation. In addition, the guest
speaker programme has been extended to
Accra Wesley Girls High School and
Lashibi Senior High School.

Additional volunteers have been recruited and Yere Dzikan mentors have continued to work with the consent of parents and in cooperation with head teachers. Coordinators in each school are key liaison between the girls and the charity. In addition to the mentoring programme being delivered to 5 girls in each school, there has been one career day to which the whole school are invited. Each mentee has also had the opportunity for a job shadowing based on her career interest. There has been ongoing involvement from an educational psychologist and an informational talk was provided to support girls with applications to higher education. Outcomes All ten students graduated and it has been good to see some students take up leadership positions in their schools. Based on feedback from teachers and the pupils the development of confidence is a key outcome from the programme.
