Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 With the grant money we were able to
speak to over 5000 students in our
workshops. Through these workshops we
have opened up awkward conversations
such as sexual assault, sexting etc. We
have had approx. 50 students stay behind
to speak 1 to 1 with one of the retired
officers to ask for advice and guidance as
they themselves have been victims of
crime of a “friend” has.
We had one boy who was upset after a
session and when asked why, he said “I
didn’t realise that my actions have been
scaring girls”.
I myself heard a boy ask his girlfriend after
a session on harassment if “the amount of
times I text you a day is ok with her”.
Our mentoring programme has increased
ten fold due to grant money and I am
hoping this avenue of work will increase
over time as many of our young people
sadly don’t have an adult to look up too.
We have acted as appropriate adults in the
police station this year when some of our
younger people have got into trouble. We
see this as an honour as the bond of trust
is clearly there for them to ask us this.
