Volunteers for Tynemouth Seal Hospital have given, during the above period, approximately 2,200 hours of voluntary time seeking the rehabilitation of 13 seals, both harbour (common) and grey seals). Of these animals, 11 were rehabilitated to release, 1 was transferred to another facility, and 1 were too weak to survive. To undertake this work, we received donations from the general public totalling £9160. During this time we spent £4793, broken down thusly (all figures are rounded to the nearest whole number): £1200 (25%) was spent on equipment for the seal hospital. £1179 (24%) was spent on veterinary costs. £1052 (22%) was spent on consumables for everyday use in the seal hospital. £640 (13%) was spent on charity administration costs. £456 (9%) was spent on ongoing medicinal treatments for the seals £237 (5%) was spent on frozen fish. £70 (1%) was spent on travel and transport expenses £37 (1%) was spent on merchandise to sell. |
