There has been no change in Ihese during the year. The TTuslees have paid due iegard to guidance sssued by the Charity Commission in deading what activities the charity should undertake. During this finanual yèar. E￿t has sought to consolidate our position as a charity and develop partftetship working, to widen awareness ol the work we do and develop fvrthei opportunities for growth. LOO￿.ng ahead the charity feels its widening audience with regard to both support req￿sted and also growing partnership work ceflects the charity's growtng stature within our field of work and we will o)ntinue lo look for furthef opportunitie5 to reduce extremi5ffl wa education, compa55ion and understanding while advocating all extremism and violence is wrong. Seeking lo support people many walk away from, we don'l and believe thè bèst way of reducing extièmism is by going lo the core of the problem i.e., extrernisls involved and thèn try and persuade them lo change their lives and walk away from a life of hate. Not easy. we understand many people involved in extremism are victims. not monsters and we believe by seeing people as individuals first, not extremists, positive change is possible through dedicated 5UPPOrt by people with lived experience. who offer full support. without judgem8nl. Having supported 42 in-depth cases this year and 115 others who did not need long-tem) support, we a￿ pleased lo say that all families helped lell supported and all those that were supportive of extremism er(her stopped supporting extremist narratives completely or reduced thèir support for extremism after engagement and support. Financial review Consolidating work with MOPAC In London and META foi support with their rediiéd programme, Exit Hale Is conscious of the need for lonTrlerni fundingwith regard lo trying to challenge and redu¢e th8 impact of extremism on indiwduals, their families and the wider COTnmurity. As such Exil Hate is ¢urrendy applying for mults"_ year funding lo prowde and improve free menlortng support to people in Grttical need. During the year. in¢ome of £125.787 was ad)ieved through providing servicès or receiving grants lo support Ihe charity's actiwtie5. Expenses of £100,553 weie incurred lo deliver those actiwlies, the vast rnajorrty of which related lo charitable acts'vitiès. A surplus of £25,234 was achieved in the yeai, which is added lo the previous surpluses of £27.184. giving lot81 fund balances tsf £52.418 to lake into next year. The tru51ee$ arè satisfied with the charity'5 finanaal perforniance for the year. It is the policy of the ch8rty that unrestliLled fijrhds which have not been designated for a specific use should be maintained at a level equivalent to betsveen three and six month'5 expènditure. The Trustees ¢onsider thal reserves at Ihis level will ensuie that. in the event of a significant drop in funding. they will be able to continue the charty's current activities while consideration Is given lo way5 in which additional funds may be raised. This level of reserves has been mainlained throughout the year.
