Para 1.20 | One of the aims of both FOIRS and The Rail and Bus Board (created by FOIRS) is to create an Integrated Transport Hub for Ilkley. During the year FOIRS has started a process of applying for Funds (including an application to Ilkley Town Council). The purpose of these funds is to commission a report from a suitable Firm of Consultants to create a solution for a Transport Hub. Year 2025 is the 160th Birthday for Ilkley Rail Station. Work has started for an Exhibition to be held in August 2025. This includes 5 Information Boards depicting the History of Ilkley Station. FOIRS has adopted an area of land to “green space” at the foot of the steps from the Ilkley Rail Station Footbridge. In addition to seeking sponsors to develop the site, FOIRS is also looking at the possibility of applying for a Lottery Grant to fund the initial work required and also to pay for maintenance of the site for at least five years. On a festive note, FOIRS has once again purchased a Xmas Tree at the Annual St Margaret’s Xmas Tree Festival. |
