Firefox about..blank WILTSHIRE FEDERATION OF WIS CIO - TRUSTEES REPORT FOR THE PERIOD ENDED 31 MARCH 2023 The Trustees present herewith the report and financial statements of the CIO for the pericd from incorporation on 15 December 2021 to 31 March 2023. Objectlves and actlvitie5 for the public benefit The Federation strives to promote the aims and objeLtives of the Women's In5titLts rn0vennt in Wiltshire and elsewhere. Its core function5 are.. the education of women and girls: the promotlon of sustainable devdopment and the advancement of health and citizenship for public benefit. When reviewing these ain and objectives, the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit has teen follow8J. Achievements and performance Our first 10 month5 trading as a Charitsble Incorporated trganisation (CIO) has not been wjthout challenges and our accounts for the year reflert thi5 with a £4,345 deficit las against a budget surplus of £170). This was despite a significant effort by the Trustees and Teams to protTK)te the WFWI and its attivities and to minimise expenses {our costs were £4,724 lower than budgd). The Teams, overall contrbution was £7,200 vs an expected £8,835. Our artive Team (Events) was particularty affected with a shortfall v5 budget of £3,836 paruy due to the reluctsnce of some of our dder members to socialize a5 much post-pandernic as they had done prior to March 2020. Tre reduction in membership subs¢rlption5 also had a sgnificant Impart13,270 member5 vs 3,300 expected and a subs income £L,377 bwer than budgeted) in particular ttcause the budget was ba5&1 on all subscriptions being CeIved in QI whereas 6.5Vo a received in quarters 2-4. OUT rnembership presents a demographic particularly badly imparted by the Covid pandemic and we have not yet been able to recrut new members to flll the gap. Other than the general running of the chanty, the Board of Trustee's main events are the Annual Council MeetiTrJ (Ottober 20221 and Teams Day (in January 2023)- The Annual Council Meeting was well attended (454 paying attendees and 123 guests) with interesting tslks from Ellzabeth Bruton (on Women spie5 from the first Elizabethan era onwards) and Reverend Kate Bottley. However, due mainly to the venue increasing their costs after we had booked, the Surplus gervated was £2,341 less than expected at £2,544. Teams Day focuwj on how to turn our finances around in the coming year and was reportdly enjoyable and moVvatiThJ. Each Team set itself objecbves to contribute to an overall tsrget of 4,000 members by 2025. Campaigns Team The Team meets very effiCntty on Zoom every months and several attended Teams Day at Kington Langley to plan artNitle5 for 2023-24, We have continued to stwggle to run events that appeal to our members and 50 we have had to become more flexible. We moved our ReSolutn Sertn Meeting to Wt House to cost-effertively accommodate 22 member5. The Conferen Room was fairly cosy which may have eTKouraged the ath.ve debats which was held on the four resolutions short-listed. It was very wdl received by those attending and Jt was excellent that we were able to gu ahead. We a150 had a marvelous visit to EastbroDk Fam) with forty attendees who all enjoyed the talk and lunch, some also took part in the safari around the farm too. Our third event vyas sadly Canlled due to lack of numkkrs, this was SUPFM)sed to be an evening event on McKlem Slavery. 3of 19 291(W12023, 10..40

The Team contributed a surplus of a little over £100 to WFM. Dl9ital Whilst the Digitsl Team has not met in person or on zcorn for several Months, they have continued to sutport the Federation by keeping the Wiltshire website up to date arKS making sure it is a good representats.on of the Federation. They alsg SUPPOrted the offi Stsff where possible with Office 365 and in collaboration with the Membership Team tried to recruit as many Wl offirS to using their gerwic email and OneDrive. They have also shared information from NFWI and keep members up to date on Social M8Jia. Events Thi5 Team is our most ath.ve and productive, generating a surplus of neady £3,5110 from Events hich Ibtheen June 2022 and the e1 of March 2023) included tslks about royalty and aristtKracyi Vlsits to BLbcklers Hard, theatre group performances, a Literary Lunch ar tslks from antiques exFerts. The most SLKce55ful events {financially) continue to te those that tell us more ab)ut the lives of the royal family. In thls Financial Year these were the Castle of Mey tslk about the Queen Mother and the tslk about the Duchess of Devonshire. A planned event to mark International Women's DHY had to be cancelled due to lack of interest and contractual i5sU&S With one of the 5peaker5. In additson to the above events, the Events Team is taking on the running of the New Speaker's Days on behalf of the &)ard of Tru#ees. These are usually successful events and have re5Jlted in many speakers bqng added to the speakews r83iSter as well as contributing over £2,000 to WFWI nds. The Team conststs of 9 members (expected to grow to 10 In 2023) and njns raffle5 at all of its events which make a considerable contributy'on to income. Leisure The Leisure Tearn has struggled to find events to host that have Interested the Witshire member5. As a resutt some actvitie5 were cancdled due to wr bookirrf¥ and others were tsken off the caleThYar due to the finala1 costs Invofved. Of the events that did gts ahead there was some gocmy feedb Nordic walking, a crwuet taster session, the Christmas concert and Belty dancing. Despite this, the Team contributed rEarly a £1,500 to the WFWI funds with the bulk of this lI¥j contributed by the Christmas Conrt. The sknttle5 and the Whist league were the next most ofitable acbvib"es. The Leisure Team also struggled to recruit new memlkrs and a key member had tr) step down due to her husband's 111-health. a result, it wa5 decid to merge the Team with the Workshop5 Team in January. Lwknng forward it is hoped that the new CraPG and Leisure Team will grow and run aLtivits"es that members wll suptx)rt and attend. Thanks are extended to the outgoing Chairman of the Leisure Team, Anna ZebedetrHardy, who has moved to the Campaigns TeaTh a1 to the outgoing Secretary, Maddeine Flight, whose hard work over the years ha5 been mLh appreciated. 4of19 291(W12023, 10..40
