Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 2023 was a year where we wanted to launch
and build on our initial foundations. We
officially launched the charity in January with a
fabulous event where we presented our short
and long term plans and explained the premise
of the charity grants. We also raised some
initial funds to enable us to start the grant
award process.
We welcomed 2 new Trustees during 2023 –
Helen Hutcheson and Lisa Aird joined the
team.
During 2023 we awarded 9 grants for various
therapies - Physiotherapy, Hydrotherapy and
Speech Therapy. Grants were received by
families living across all 3 of our main areas –
Shropshire, Cheshire and North Wales.
In terms of fundraising, we were very grateful
to receive some large donations from local
companies, as well as donations and raffle
income from the initial launch. We have
continued to participate in the Wrexham
Lottery which gives us a small regular monthly
income. We have applied and been successful
in securing some local grants and our annual
Christmas raffle helped to bolster our funding
pot.

Achievements against
objectives set
Para 1.41 The year was launching the charity officially
and raising the profile within our local areas.
We have had applications from families across
all 3 areas and our initial target of awarding 10
grants in our first year was only limited by the
number of applications that we received.
Performance of fundraising
activities against objectives
set
Para 1.41 We have been able to raise enough funds to
award the grants that have been applied for
during 2023. We planned for future years to
secure further funding to enable us to continue
to increase the grants we are able to award
year on year.
