| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | 2023 was a year where we wanted to launch and build on our initial foundations. We officially launched the charity in January with a fabulous event where we presented our short and long term plans and explained the premise of the charity grants. We also raised some initial funds to enable us to start the grant award process. We welcomed 2 new Trustees during 2023 – Helen Hutcheson and Lisa Aird joined the team. During 2023 we awarded 9 grants for various therapies - Physiotherapy, Hydrotherapy and Speech Therapy. Grants were received by families living across all 3 of our main areas – Shropshire, Cheshire and North Wales. In terms of fundraising, we were very grateful to receive some large donations from local companies, as well as donations and raffle income from the initial launch. We have continued to participate in the Wrexham Lottery which gives us a small regular monthly income. We have applied and been successful in securing some local grants and our annual Christmas raffle helped to bolster our funding pot. |
