Para 1.20 | calendar of events that allowed the members of a relatively small diaspora to maintain its community spirit and reminded said members of our shared history and culture. This is useful as it makes it easier to raise funds for charitable initiatives. The charities in the UK and India (primarily the Trussell Trust, Educational and Vocational Centre for the Handicapped and the Saraswat Education Society respectively) benefited from the money we raised at our events, and the Shri Chitrapur Math benefited from our remittances, which it put towards various causes reported to members at subsequent AGMs. |
