Turnover includes revenue earned from the sale of goods and from the rendering of services. Tumover from the rendering of sefvices is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. Taxation A eurrent tax liability is recognised for the tax payable on the taxable profit of the current and past periods. A current tax asset Is recognised in respect of a tax loss that can be carried back lo recover lax paid in a previou5 period. Deferred lax is recognised In respect of all liming differences betsveen the recognition of income and expenses in the financial stslements and their inclusion in lax assessments. Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that il is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred lax liabilities or other future taxable profit5. Deferred tax Is measured using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or subslanlively enacted by the reports'ng dale and that are expected lo apply lo the reversal ol the liming difference, except for revalued land and investment propety where the lax rate that applies to the sale of the asset 1$ used. Leased assets are depreciated In accordance with the company's policy for tangible fixed assets. If there is no reasonable certainty that ownership will be obtained al the end of the lease term, the asset is depreciated over the lower of the lease lerrn and ils useful life. Operating lease payments are recognised as an expense on a slraighl line basis over the lease term. Grant Incomo We have received grant funding over Ihe financtal year from various organisalions induding: Phoenix Fund British Wrestling Asso¢ialion Sireelgames Forever Manchester Sport England Charles Hayward Foundation Bury Council Greater Manchester Violence Reduction Unit Peter Harrison Foundation Greater Manchester Police High Sheriff Trust Ouchy of Lancaster Fund Structure l Mana emont We have 6 Irus18es. 6 part lime staff lincludlng 1 Charity Manager, 1 Gym Supervisor and 4 Gym Assislanlsl. We also have 10 casu81 sports instructors. 2 casual Youth Mentors and another 8 volunteers. Most of the day-to-day responsibilities have been delegated by Trustees lo the Charity Manager, who manages the other Gym Siaff. The Sports instructors are casual workers who attend lo deliver various combat sports classes here every week and Ihe Youth Mentors are casual staff who lake on referrals from Ihe Charity Manager for young people vtho require mentoring and additional 5UPPOrt. Future Plans We would like lo expand our secondary and lerttary tier intervention Work lo prevent youth violence. criminality and disrupt gang activity in the local area. We are looking lo employ additional Youth Mentors who can help lum around the lives of local young people who are involved in criminality. Our oducalional activities are currently constrained by lack of space with 2 small classrooms. We would like lo expand our Holiday Club, Arabic School and be able lo offer more supplementsry education activities and this will be made possible through capital expenditure in the years ahead.
