New tnembers have been welcomed, and baptfsm5 4t￿ funèral servfces have been held. Thls year theie are 79 people recorded on the electoral roll. This number has remalned pretty statlc over the past few yeais; however, several new familTes haye lolned us thls year awbd It Is h¢wed they will be added to the electoral roll for nexl year. 11 has been a deilght io see so many worshlppers from the local comrTwnlty at special Servi￿$, especlally at Easter and Christmas and for servlces such as the Harvesl 5erylce, Motherlng Sunday? IAessy Chr15tlngle Servlce. Sunday evenlng Talze, Lady Day and Wave of Prayer Servlce5 for the Mothers Unlon and a dedlcated servlce for Open Doors. It also gave us great loy to ￿5t the Holy Trtnlly School Carol Servlce once again. We had three 'whoLe year group, wsits frorn Bewbush Academy who all wrote lovely cards to say thank you. The Thjmber of chlldren who enjoy attendlng church regularly 55 a Joy to behold. At all age se1￿ceS and at other times our yovngsters take part In worshlp by belng readers, servlng during worship. and leadlng the prayers. Our Tlny Tces toddler group con¢lnue5 to attract more and more people from the whole cornmunlly and has proved to be a very needed and welcome well￿1n4 proviston, Weekly attendance Is around 20+ families. Refreshments and craft actlvfjtles are provided each week for the thildren and thelr adu115. Christma5 and Easter books are glfted io the chlldren each year. The Mother's Unlon make5 good use of the church and hall for meetlng5 and actlvitie5. AnTh)ng other evènts and activltle5, each year they prepare the Mothedng Sunday posies for dlstrlbutlon. makè Christmas 'Shlne a Llght, stars for the very young, pack socks for Brook House Immlgration Removal cent￿ detalnee5 and collect food doThatlohS for Famlly Supptsrt Work. They a150 make use of the chvrch and hall for worship, meetlng5 and oth actiwtie5. Another hl8hllght ol the year was our Patronal brlng and share 'intematlonal' lunch and BBQ The array of food donated to the feast for everywe's enjoyment paid a wonderful testlmony w lh¢ Increa51ng diverslty of our congregatlon members. It was enjoyed 50 rnuch that we de¢ld¢d to do It all agaln for a Harvest Lunchl Oiher events such as the annua( Cream Tea afternoon, Chtistma5 Falr Tree Festival, are a source of loy for the whole communlty. We heid three rntJ51cal fijndraising events whlch were all thoroughly enjoyed by the comrnunily. The wonderful mu51clans for all th￿e events generously donated their time and expertlse to bring Joy to the communlty as well as to hèlp the church raise funds. The wanderful cake5 and refreshments offered al each event were It)vlngly baked by our fundralsing te4m. There are rnany other group5 who use the church and hau, Including the regulars, the AA group, Sllmmlng World, and annual NHS Covid vacclnatlon clinlc5.

SchoDI wslt5 to the church have begun agaln after the pandemlc and in additlon to school vislt5, the vicar v5sits three local pre-schools at Harvest, Chiistmas and Easter. We are delighted that thls wa5 completed in March 2023. Thls has enabled many more church and communlty groups to make use of the church. This will enhance the Ilv¢s and wellbelng of so many In our church and communfty and will ftjrther combat the grovring problem of lonellness within so¢lety. St Aiban's Is currently fundraising for varlous desperately nèèded trnprovements to the church bullding 50 that more misslon, outreach and comTN¢nity woril can be facililated. Alihough thè fundralsing 15 movlng slowly, we afe delighted we recelvÈd a small granl of £2,CQO in 2022 from htt :Ilwww.benefacttrust.co.ukl towards the preparatloTr cost5 for the bulldlng project. The PCC'S alm 1$ to create a new accesslble enirance, Install tolLets, the new heatinE 5yStem, a refreshment area, and repalr the tower. Thls work ￿1[ beneflt both the church and the local communlty by providlnE an accessible worship space as well as a usable space for cotnmunlty Use. As we rKoYer from the economic and SDclal effects of Covld 19 there 15 even greater need for our buildin45 to be used for and by the community to prwde the spldtuall physlcal and meAtal health and wellbelng of people In our neIghbouTh¢￿$ and beyond.
