| Policy on grant making | Para 1.38 | U-turn Outreach has established its grant making policy to achieve its objects for the public benefit to provide relief of poverty among homeless people in South Africa and support the advancement of the Christian faith. Currently it is estimated there are 200,000 homeless people in South Africa. The beneficiary organisation must be a registered non- profit organisation in South Africa that is working from a developmental approach to overcome homelessness. The beneficiary organisation must also support the advancement of the Christian faith, in particular but not exclusively by providing opportunities for the homeless community and those who work to support them to engage in prayer, Bible study and religious education. U-turn Outreach will build partnerships with organisations working on homelessness in South Africa and will invite them to apply for funding. To access funding, the beneficiary organisation needs to complete an application form outlining the use of the funds. Requests will be reviewed by the U-turn Outreach board on a quarterly basis. U-turn Outreach does not accept unsolicited donation requests from organisations it does not already have a partnership with and may not respond to any such request received. U-turn Outreach reserves the right to undertake background and due diligence checks on anynew organisation before fundingisprovided. |
