Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document	Para 1.17	To promote social inclusion for the public benefit of men, living in Uckfield and the surrounding area, in particular, but not exclusively, older men, preventing them from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society through the provision of premises in which men can meet and jointly or individually undertake and share creative, physical, social and recreational activities of their choice

Para 1.17 and 1.19	We offer the opportunity for men to take part in carpentry activities three days a week producing goods for themselves, for sale by the Shed or to support other charities and local groups. The Charity aims at ensuring that there are plenty of opportunities for members to interact, discuss matters that are relevant to them and generally provide a space where members feel comfortable and supported.

Para 1.20	The charity has given around 40 men the opportunity to interact in a supportive environment with like minded men to ensure that they do not become socially excluded and have been given the opportunity to produce goods that have benefitted other local groups and charities as well as raising money, through sales, which help to finance the charity’s work. We are well known in the local community for the work we do in supporting other groups.

Financial Review
Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period	Para 1.21	The charity is in a reasonably strong financial position with income coming from memberships, subscriptions and sales. Outgoings are mainly rent and affiliated expenses as we are paying commercial rent for our facilities. Overall, our expenses are greater than our income but we still hold enough funds to ensure that the charity will continue to function fully going forward.
