Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 Activities continued to be much reduced
in this period as a result of the Manager,
Tom Elliott being Director of Music at a
Prep School in Kent. A successful series
of 4 concerts was run during the period
from November to April. Over 300 people
benefitted from the concerts as audience
members.
In addition to the concerts, the other
main branch of the charity’s activites, the
string school for young people every
Monday night in Benenden continued and
had a good year. The group finished the
period with 14 members, from age 9-13
and undertook two concerts and an
appearance at the Benenden Village Fete
in June.
It is the aim of the Trustees to encourage
more children from state schools, who
have limited access to musical
experiences to join. At the time of writing,
the group has 23% non-independent
school representation.

that there are sufficient sums in the
account to progress with another, albeit
much reduced season in 2025-26.
