|---|---|---|
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | The charity was founded in October 2021, just before the third public concert given under the name of Bridgepoint Music. Public concerts in June and July 2021were followed by the Mendelssohn Octet in October 2021, Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence in March 2022 and a violin and piano recital in April 2022 with the world-renowned violinist, Chloe Hanslip appearing. The concerts were enthusiastically received and a definite upward trend in audience numbers was recorded. These concerts have provided employment for the twenty-six musicians who appeared and have brought significant joy to the audience. In November 2021 the charity launched its Saturday Music School, under the name, Bridgepoint String Orchestra. The group is run by Tom Elliott and by the end of the report period had 10 members between the ages of 6 and 16. They gave a Christmas concert in December 2021. Numbers have since grown and the benefits to the children and the audiences who hear the group play are manifold and clear. |
