| Statement confirming whether the trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit |
Para 1.18 | In directing our efforts and resources, the trustees of The Childhood Cancer Research Trust have diligently considered and adhered to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission regarding public benefit. This guidance underscores the importance of ensuring that all charitable activities directly contribute to the public good, in line with our charitable objects. This fiscal year, our commitment to maximizing public benefit was exemplified through a strategic grant to The Concorde Initiative, which focuses on researching the use of natural compounds in paediatric cancer treatment. By funding this pioneering research, we aim to forge new pathways in cancer care that could significantly improve treatment options for children. Importantly, all funds raised have been allocated directly to this research, with no overheads, salaries, or administration costs deducted, ensuring |
that every pound is directly applied to advancing this vital work. The insights produced by The Concorde Initiative this year have shown promising potential to enhance cancer care for children, aligning with our mission and the Charity Commission's expectations for public benefit.
