## **Financial Review**

Review of the charity’s  Para 1.21  The Childhood Cancer Research Trust<br>financial position at the end  raised  £ 61,944 in the year to 2023. The<br>of the period  significant legacy donation of £40,000<br>received was specified for the work of The<br>Concorde Initiative and fully awarded to it.<br>This grant supported our pivotal research<br>into developing kinder and more effective<br>treatments for children with cancer. While<br>our available funds are currently low, this<br>investment aligns with our strategic<br>commitment to advancing medical research<br>and demonstrates effective use of donor<br>contributions for designated purposes.<br>After direct fund raising costs and the grant<br>allocation, £19,025 remains which will be<br>directed towards the next phase of The<br>Concorde Initiative.<br>Statement explaining the  Para 1.22  Reserve Policy Statement<br>policy for holding reserves  Our charity does not maintain a reserve<br>stating why they are held  fund as the charity has no overheads,<br>salaries or other ongoing expenses. The Concorde Initiative, owned by Dr Alex<br>Concorde, is closely linked with the<br>Relationship with any  Para 1.51  Childhood Cancer Research Trust due to<br>related parties  the charity’s focused support of Dr<br>Concorde’s research. Dr Concorde has<br>been appointed Medical Director of the<br>charity in order to spearhead the translation<br>of the CCRT objects into action by<br>mediating between the mission of the<br>CCRT and the actual execution of the<br>charitable objects through her work at TCI,<br>thereby ensuring the research activities<br>align effectively with the strategic goals of<br>the Childhood Cancer Research Trust.<br>The relationship is managed under strict<br>governance practices to avoid any conflicts<br>of interest, ensuring that our collaboration<br>is transparent and maintains the highest<br>integrity.
