ThLS is especially the case for those who are younger. who are only enlrtled to a very low level of Govemment Benefils. The level of govemment benefrts makes renting in the city extremety hard for this age group. This is because the is a disparity tehveen the Housing Benefrt they receive lon average 561.47 prjn less than someone over 351 and the matet rate in London. Our own research from comparing ONS recorrls and LHA r8te8 indicated Ihal this shortfall WA% on average £143.54 PQTn, While Discretionary Housing Payments exist. this is only eligible for those already in 8fLommcJalion, not those who wish to access it.
