OUR AIM8 AND OBJECTIVE8
The Bank of Mum and Dad, Is a phrase In￿e0$In91Y heanj In contemporary London.

Our wsion is to prn￿de the $8me support th81 financlally secure p8renls olve lo Ihelr chlklren, lo those

The motto of our Ch8rity a￿ the Wo￿lS of Frederlck Doug18SS'.
.1 ￿nn01 breathe for you, or you for me,. I must bre8the for myself..
11 is our motto as we want lo see our dlenls work hard for thelr success, not having to rely on the
indefinite support of the stale or subsKly, bul instead reachino financi81 independence from Iheir

fyÈ wanl them to be able to say to Ihemsefves one day th8t they helped buikj their city, that they are 8
part of Its ongoing n8rr8tive. not exlsling on its marglns.
That they tKeathe forthemselves.
Mission
Too many young people in this city experience homelessness as they eannol afford the market rent for
housing. ￿lIe some are graced wilh the economic C￿nditionS th8t allow Ihem lo rely on the financial

Govemment Benefils.
The level of govemment benefrts makes renting in the city extremety hard for this age group. This is
because the￿ is a disparity tehveen the Housing Benefrt they receive lon average 561.47 prjn less
than someone over 351 and the mat*et rate in London.
Our own research from comparing ONS recorrls and LHA r8te8 indicated Ihal this shortfall WA% on
average £143.54 PQTn, While Discretionary Housing Payments exist. this is only eligible for those
already in 8fLommc*Jalion, not those who wish to access it.

who norm81ty lack financial supporl to afford to rent in this city. Practically, this means providing the
