Organisation of the Pennseythen Gernewek (Cornish language weekend), an in-person event in April 2024 at Truro. This gave learners and more experienced speakers of the language the opportunity to meet together to useitandtolearn more about |
it in a wide range of settings. 7. Organisation of stalls at events around Cornwall. This gave the opportunity to reach people who may not have had any contact with the language previously. 8. Kowethas members contributed to the annual Speak Cornish Week held in June 2024. 9. Operation of ‘Kowsva’, a combination of a shop, office and storage facility at Heartlands, Redruth to provide a base for our activities. Volunteers were present at Kowsva most days to run the shop and promote the Cornish language to visitors. It must be noted that Kowsva was closed down at the end of September 2024 due to increased costs. We now have a separate, less expensive storage facility and ‘pop-up’ stalls are being organised at events throughout Cornwall.
