Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 In order to manage the increase in
members this year two volunteers took the
Level 1 coaching badge. This development
will also enable us to provide more
sessions in the 22/23 season.
Our annual show this year consisted of 34
bouts with clubs from across the country
participating in the pre-quarter finals of the
English Boxing Development
Championships. Our members performed
well and although they didn’t qualify for the
next round, this was invaluable experience
at this stage of their development.
The Club was approached by the local
college and parents and asked to admit a
youngster who was proving difficult to
manage at home and at college. The club
has a well-earned reputation locally for
challenging the negative behaviour of
youngsters, and this year the senior
coaches have witnessed a significant
change in the attitude and concentration
exhibited by this young person.
The Club is also involved with young adults
with drink and drug related issues who
presented themselves at the club with the
aim of changing behaviour through the self-
discipline which is a key ingredient of being
a boxer.
