Improving the ability of conflict affected civilian communitie5 to implement actions that enhance the safety and security of su¢h corntnllnities. Improving the access of civilian communities to Arnied Actors and improving iheir influence over Armed Actors. Strengthening the resolve and capacity of Artned Actors to prevent and respond to civilian harni. Building the capacity of Governments and Governmental Security Forces to better protect civilians. Engaging with and training am)ed non-Govemrnental Bodie5 so as the reduce their haTm tg civilian communities and their capacity to protect Civilian corntnunities, provided that.. The Charity shall always aci by non-violent means, and Nothing in the Charity's Const]tiOn shall authorise an application of the property of the Charity for purposes which are not ChaTÉtabl¢ in a¢wrdance with the Law of England. ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE In its first period, Center For Civilian5 In Confliet UK focused on building a foundation that would support global effotts to piotect civilians. This included establishing internal systems and procedures for fundraising. PUBLIC BENEFIT Having regard to the activities and achievernenis of the Charity duiing the year as reported above. the Trnstees are of the opinion that St has fvlfill¢d its ¢haritable purposes of supporting the protection of civilians worldwide. PUBLIC BENEFIT CONFIRMATION The Trustees confirni that they have complied with the duty in section 17{5) of the Charities A¢t 2011 with regard tr> public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission. FINANCIAL REVIEW Following a period of generous donations. the charity has started to plan and develop its services. Total income received for the year wa5 £22,1M17. The income is consisted of donaiions of £22.005 and inve5ttnent income of £2 recekved in the period. Tolal expenditure for the period amounted to £16. Overall, a surpllls of £21.991 w85 realised in the peri PRINCIPAL FUNDING SOURCES The Charity's principal funding sources continues to b¢ donatio. The charity continues to seek funding from a broader base of fimders for its tre needs. INVESTMENT POLICY The Charity's investment policy is regularly kept under review. The Trnstees have decided to hold the general resetves on with CAF Bank Ltd. All of ihe charity's funding is dependent on voluntary donations. M05t of the ndS will be spent over the short to medium terni providing services to beneficiaries. G0Tr4G CONCERN The board of trustees consider that ther¢ are no tnaierial uncertainties about the ability to continue as a going concenj. To date, the charity has met its objectives as it success11Y raised funds to support the protection of civilians worldwide through networking and relational fundraising. CIVIC UK will continue to 5UPPOrt the protection of civilians worldwide by developing partnerships with individuals, organisations, and the UK government to support and promote the PTOte¢tion of civilians caught in conflict zone5 worldwide. The Teserves are needed to support working capital requirements of the charity and the Trustees are confident that at this level they would be able to continue their current haritable activities in the event of a significant drop in funding. Total Expenditure for the forthcoming yeaT is £60. The level of llnrestricted Reserves represents just under years of expenditure ai the nomial budget. The Trustees accept that this 15 in the target range that they are cotnmitted to achieving and continu¢ to give thanks for all the donation5 recehved during the year, which ha5 enabled them to ¢ontinue operations. The Trustees will continue to monitor existing activities aDd expenditure against their annual business plan to ensure funding is available to tnaintain operations at an ac¢¢ptable standard. STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT LEGAL STRUCTURE The Charity was set up on 12 August 2021. It's governing document is a CtsnstiNtion. which establishes the objects and powers of the charity. The charity is constituted as a Charitable IncoTporated Organisation (CIO}. Its registered number 15 1195505. The period 12 August 2021 to 31 December 2022 is the first period of the Charity. LEADERSHIP TEAM (L T) This comprises the Truste¢ Board. The minimurn nutnber of Trustees shall b¢ 3 and the maximum 15. Most of the Trustees are familiar with the pra¢ti¢ai work of the charity. TRUSTEE JNDUCTIONAND TIUINING New trnstee5 at present are inducted with a formal welcome letter that extends the organi5ation's gralitude for their commitment. Alongside this. each trustee receives a copy of the bylaws, ensuring they have ready access to essential infonnation pertinent to the organisation. Apart from the first charity trustees. every trustee must be aFyointed for a terni of three years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trnstees. In selecting individuals for appointment as charity tnjstees, th¢ charity ttustees must hav¢ regard to the skil]s, knowledge and experience n¢¢d¢d for the effective administration of the cio. ORGANISAfioNAL STRUCTURE The Charity has a LT of up to 5 Members who are responsible for the 5tAtegic direction and policy of th¢ charity. At present, the LT has 5 Tnjstees frorn a variety of ba¢kgrounds relevant to the work of the tharity. MANAGEMENTOFRISKS, SYSTEMSAND PROCEDURES The provision of service 15 the responsibility of the trustees. A system of delegation is in place with day-to-day responsibility resting with the Chair. Where appropriate. systems or procedures have been established to mitigate the risks the charity faces. Heavy reliance is curr¢nily placed on donation5 Ènd fi]ndraisiDg events and has led to the development of a funding strategy to seek out new methods and funders for charitable activities undertaken. Int¢mal control risks are minimised by th¢ itnplementstion of authorisation procedures for all transactions.
