Section D Achievements and performance Ben the 11th of Au9USt 2021 and 31 January 2022, we donated a total of 9 more bells to oncology wards and 3 more bells to Neonatal Intensive Care Units. This took the total number of bells donated by the charity to 345. Of these, 305 have been donated to oncology wards and 40 have been donated to NICU wards. Whilst this number is low compared to previous years, we believe this is due to the fact that the Covid-19 pandemic fOrd most hospitsls to limit visitors and most treatment centres stopped the tradition of bell ringing at th8 end of tr8atment. For most of the pandemic, we loaned bells to families free of charge so they could still ring the bell wth their loved ones however, we ceased this in January 2022. As an altemative, we offered extra bells to hospitals so they Gould loan these out to families who wanted to celebrate the end of their treatment but were restricted due to the limitations of social distancing and the number of people allowed on the ward. Summary of the main achievements of the charty during the year We have continued to sponsor a special bead which is given to Ghiklren who are enrolled on the Beads of Courage UK programme when they ring one of our bells. Each bead rePsentS a produre or milestone during a child's treatment and ringing the bell is viewed by many as one of the most significant parts of their treatment. The beads are a tangible way for children to process and tslk about the ProdureS they are having. We send out patient certrfic2tes to units who order onè of our bells and we replenish these as and when réquested by these hospitals. Certrficates are given to patients as a memento of the day they rang the TAR March 2012
Section E Financial review Brief statement of the charity's policy on reserves Details of any funds materlally in deficit nla Further financial revlew datails (Optional Inforniation) You may choose to include additional infonnation, where relevant about.. the charity's prinapal sources of funds (including any fundraising),. how expeftditure has supported th8 key objectiV8S of the charity., investment policy and objectives induding any ethical investrnent policy adopted. Fundraising was difficult because of the constraints of Covid-19 but we continued to offer sponsorship of the bells as a way of recouping money spent by the charity. Donations were scarce during this period. Again, we believe this was due to the pandemic. Our outgoings are minimal, and we mainly use funds to buy services for the assembling and distribution of bells and r'ficate5. The majority of our costs are for plaques, bells, fittings, certificates, packaging materials and courier costs. Section F Other optional information Section G Declaration The trustees declare that they have approved the trustees, report above. TAR March 2012
