Report and Financial Ststements Due to covid we were limited in the activities we could perform. during the year of reporting, we were involved in planning application for th8 property W8 rented out with a view to purchase if w8 get the planning to convert to cornmunity centre with prayer facilities. As we don't have planning permission to use the premises for other activities, we are managing Friday Servi￿ for men at the Rainham library. We have been organising Eid prayers since 2021. we have hosted 8 few events including Iftsr and online serninars. Finan¢ial Review The Statement ol financial activities shows a net sutplus of £6,108 for the year. Management committee has put necessary control in place lo avoid any mismanagement of funds. Principal funding sources The charity's main source of income is donation from members ol the congregation. Investment policy Cutrenlly. the charity has no investment. Future plans It is currently renting the property and its intention within the next financial year is lo raise funds to purchase the building for community centie and prayer facilities. Rainham Education & Cultural Society meets the defination of a public benefit entity under FRS 102. Assets and liabilities are initially recognised al historical cost or transaction value unless otherwise staled in the relevant accounting policy. The Charity prepares ils financial stslements in sterling, the functional currency of the Charity, and amounts are rounded lo the nearest £. 1.2 Company status The Charity is a company limited by guaranlee.The members of the company are the Trustees named on page 1. In the event of the Charity being wound up, the liability in respect of the 1.3 Income All income is recognised once the Charity has entitlement to the income, it is probable that the income will be received and amount of income reTrivable can be measures reliably. 1.4 Expendlture Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or conslruclive obligation to transfer economic benefit to a third party, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in selllemenl and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is classified by activity. The costs of each activity are made up of the total direct costs and shared costs, including support costs involved in undertaking each activity. Depreciation is provided on all tangible fixed assets, other than freehold land, at rates calculated to write off the cost, less estimated residual value, of each asset evenly over its expected useful life, as follows.. Foreign currency translation Transactions in foreign currencies are initially recognised at the rate of exchange ruling at the date of the transaction. Al the end of each reporting period foreign currency monetary items are translated at the closing rale of exchange. Non-monetary items that are measured at historical cost are translated at the rale ruling al the date of the Iransaclion. All differences are charged lo profit or loss. Leased assets A lease is classified as a finance lease if it transfers substantially all the risks and rewards incidental lo ownership. All other leases are classified as operating leases.
