Addltlonal informatlon We have an established group of volunteers who give up a considerable amount of time to assist the runnin8 and operations of Valley Park Community Association and the Trustees are extremely grateful for each and every one of tISe volunteers. In particular we have approximatety 90 volunteers who distribute our magazine The Valley Park VoKe" ten months of the year. We also have number of casual volunteers who help out at various events Including the Community Kettle, litter picks and other activities.

VPCA manages not only the Community Centre and k>cal magazine (Valley Park Voicel but employs Centre Manager, Community Engagement Coordinator. and Caretsker. The Community Engagement Coordinator role ha5 continued to allow the proviSn of regular events and artivities including Quiz Ni8hts. Community Cafe, Litter PKkin& Seasonal Children's Events. and Santa's Workshops in addition to one-off events. Events such as Bin80 / Quiz & Fish Supper have promoted a strong workin8 relationship with local businesses. These events have proved so successful that we are motivated and are artively seeking funding to continue the Community Engagement Project to enable us to njn more and similar events. Members of the local communlty attended and supported these recreational even15 which provided lots of opportunities for improved soclalisation. to the benefrt of everyone's mental health. Employlng a Community En8a8ement Coordinator to run events benefits the Community, and untll now have aimed to break even on them. Wtth increasin8 Costs, we are now aiming to make a small profrt to mitlgate the Increasin8 costs associated with these events and communication with local stakeholders indKates agreement wrth this stance. We are proud that the Community Centre remains an artive hub for all members of the community. We continue to make small improvements to the infrastructure of the Community Centre whlch include upgrades to the flre system, upgrades to the heating system. installation of tinted film to the large windows in the Main Hall and remedial re.painting of the Mèln Hall. The Centre continues to provide an ideal venue for recreation and lelsure time occupation. We have proartively reached out to local stakeholders including schools. businesses, the local church, current MP and local Councillor In order to enhance our relationshlp for mutual benefft. We continue to improve our sotial media presence and regularly update the website to keep beneficiaries infomied of ongoin8 recreational opportunities at the Centre and hiring availabilitv. The Valley Park Voice has continued to be a source of information to the Community. This publication produces ten edrtions per year in both hard and elertronic copy to ensure inclusion to all beneficiaries. Although we made an expected loss in the year due to a shortfall In Communlty Engagement Projert income and an increase in general overhead5, artion is being tsken to ensure we remain financially stable moving forward.

Atthough expenditure was greater than income, the chartty beneffted from strong reseNes and has absorbed the cost. The main sources of unre5trKted funds during the year were Hirin& Advertlsing in the Valley Park Voice magazine and event fundraFsing. Income is further supplemented bv successful grant applications as detailed below. Expenditure in utilities. salary, and fundralsln8 overhead5 increased in the year,. to mitigate the loss we plan to apply for more grants, market the hall to increase hire income, and actively fundraise. Advertising in the Voice, thou8h decreased. continues to cover printing costs and serves our charitable purposes of maintaining the Community Centre, keen8 beneficiaries Informed of progress and events and activities thereln. In the year the charity recelved the followlng grants.. £500 from Test Valley Borough Council as restricted funds towards the cost of a party to mark the 80 annlversary of VE Day which was utilised in the current year. £1,718 from Test Valley Borough Council as restricted fvnds towards the installation of tlnted film to the large windows in the Main Hall and remedial re-painting of the Main Hall which was used in the current year. £400 from Artion Hampshire as unrestricted funds relating to the Healthwatch Hampshlre project. £500 from Action Hampshire as unStrICted fvnds Telatlng to the Safe and Wami Communltles projert. The £13,136 restrirted funds carried forward from the prevlous year were £12,500 from The National Lottery Award5 for All as restrlcted funds towards the ongoln8 Community Engagement Projert, £IO,WO was utilised in the current financial year and £2,51XI to be utilised in the next financial year, and £636 from the Southern Water Communty Grant as restricted funds towards gas and electrlcity costs which was utilised in the current year. Window tinting was installed to the large Main Hall windows at a Cost of £1,2) from restricted funds as shown in Centre improvements, and visual beacons controlled by the fire panel were installed to all tollets at a cost of £706 as shown in Centre improvements. A 5CPA deposit of £2.281 was paid in relation to a heating management system which Is to be Installed in the next financial year. a grant towards the full cost of this project has been approved in principle from Test Valley Borough Council to be claimed in the next financial year. Independent examiner costs of £350 a included in &)vernance Costs, and payroll Costs, prevlousty Included in Centre Admlnistration expenses. are no k)nger included as these are now being undertaken in house. The charty have employed an average of 3 staff during the year. There are no employees who receive employee benefits of more than £.0[1. None of the Trustees have been paid any renumeration or received any beneffts from an employment with the charity in the year.
