Trustees’ Annual Report for the period

From 01/07/2021 Period start date To 30/06/2022

Period end date

Charity name: VoxThrive

Charity registration number:1195128

Objectives and Activities

SORP reference
Summary of the purposes of
the charity as set out in its
governing document
Para 1.17 To act as a resource for supporting the
mental health of young people by providing
a range of creative musical, primarily vocal,
activities as a means of:
•Building resilience and confidence;
•Providing new ways of communicating
thoughts and feelings;
•Developing long-term coping strategies
for the future wellbeing of our
beneficiaries in the Thames Valley.
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or
services identified in the
accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
It is VoxThrive’s first year in operation and
therefore we have mainly been involved in
set-up activities – acquiring essential
equipment, establishing connections with
bodies needed to undertake our main
purpose etc.
In particular we have:
§
Established our position as a member
of the Children & Young People’s
Forum for West Berkshire through the
West Berkshire Volunteer Centre.
§
Made connections with a local charity
which offers counselling to young
people to learn from their experience
We have demonstrated our ability to run
programmes by
§
Providing a free family workshop to
learn a Christmas song for the Newbury
Christmas lights switch-on event 2021.
§
Jointly organised an ‘open mic’- style
Youth Music night with two other
organisations and sourced many of the
participants.
We spent a considerable amount of time in
discussion with a local charitable
organisation, exploring the possibility of a
partnership in order to gain access to
additional facilities. Ultimately this proved
not to be beneficial for us and we had to
withdraw from the process of establishing a
formal agreement.
In May 2022 we ran a fundraising event –
VoxFest – which was open for the local
community to attend and enjoy musical
performances by youth and adult choirs
and other groups whilst enjoying
refreshments and other entertainments.
Statement confirming
whether the trustees have

issued by the Charity
Commission on public

volunteers took charge of planning
everything from publicity to facilities
§
Staging – a wider team of volunteers
performed tasks such as manning the
gates, looking after various stalls etc
Volunteers have also played a key role in
other fundraising by carrying collecting tins
at numerous events.
