Objectives and Activities
The trustees are pleased to present their report for the year ending 31[st] March 2022. We reiterate our mandate as contained in the Trust document:

(1) to develop the capacity and skills of the members of Bedfordshire's socially and economically disadvantaged community in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and participate more fully in society.

(2) the promotion of equality and diversity for the public benefit by, for example;
-
a) advancing education in and raising awareness of equality and diversity;
-
b) promoting activities to foster understanding between people from diverse backgrounds:
-
c) promoting knowledge and mutual understanding between different racial groups;
-
d) advancing education and raising awareness about different racial groups to promote good relations between persons of other racial groups;

e) working towards the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of race

(3) to further or benefit the residents of Bedfordshire in particular, but not exclusively, people of African and Caribbean heritage, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a joint effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation to improve the conditions of life for the residents.
Structure, Governance and Management
The Charity was established by a Charitable Trust Deed on 14[th] June 2021.
The members of the Trustees who served during the year were:

Recruitment and Appointment of Trustees
The existing trustees by resolution, appoint new trustees at the planned meetings. The board of the Trustees which make the financial and management decisions to oversee the activities of the charity.
Forward Plans 2022-2024
The charity is well-positioned to achieve its goals and positively impact the community. The board and volunteers will continue to work on fundraising and program development. The charity will explore new partnerships and opportunities to grow and serve the community for future events. These are listed: -

Conclusion
The Trustees and volunteers of LOWD are proud of the progress made during the reporting period and look forward to continued success. The charity is committed to transparency and accountability and will continue to provide regular reports to the stakeholders.
