Holy Cow Community Events was
registered as a CIO in 03rd June 2021, it
benefited from the goodwill and assets that
were built up since 2017 which were
transferred to the CIO on incorporation.
Our annual light inspired Diwali celebration,
which we deliver by working with partner
organisations brings together the
community.
This day the visiting wider community gets
to experience Hindu values, artistic and
cultural heritage, food, music, attire,
mythology and stories as well as
highlighting awareness of and keeping the
heritage alive. In 2022 & 2023 we
extended the program with a Festive Light
and sustainable willow lantern parade
made by community members is a
workshop ahead of the festival day. The
lanterns were available for family and
friends to see – displayed in the community
exhibition at Discover Bucks Museum.
We successfully brought together cross
generational engagement, and encouraged
acceptance and understanding of the
heritage of minority communities of Hindu
religion/ from Indian subcontinent

family day out - Diwali festival attracting in
excess of 500 participants.

that began in 2022 we saw a larger
sustainable willow lantern parade made by

Harminder the life size parambulating
illuminated mechanical elephant! over 100
lanterns were created which visitors took
home with then as a momento

We partnered with Discover Bucks
Museum, local Town & County Council,
Rothschild Foundation, Anson Charitable
Trust, William Harding Charitable Trust,
Heritage Lottery and local businesses to
jointly carry out activities of community
engagement of minority BAME groups of
Indian origin for the awareness and
education of Hindu arts, culture and
heritage.
Support from organisations such as Art of
Living offering meditative practices,
practices to engage in mental and physical

well being through Yoga practice for all ages, mediation practice in any time of day to induce calm and relaxation. Participants: an objective to promote social integration and acceptance of differences between communities also builds bridges and understanding between different communities We saw visitors from further radius of our location
