Para 1.20 | On 13th November 2021 we delivered our annual free family day out - Diwali festival attracting close to 1000 participants. This was at a time when social distancing was still being observed, therefore we worked closely with our partner organisations to ensure visitor safety. We did this through running a repeating program that ensured capacity of the venue (both indoors and outdoors) was observed with social distance in mind. Fortunately we had dry weather, which allowed us to facilitate much of the activities outside which was ideal given the caution being exercised for the purpose of COVID 19 precautions. Funders and Partners We partnered with Discover Bucks Museum, local Town & County Council, local Arts Centre and local businesses to jointly carry out activities of community engagement of minority BAME groups of Indian origin for the awareness and education of Hindu arts, culture and heritage. Support from local MP, and organisations such as Bhrahmakumaris and Art of Living offering meditative practices, insight to the many goddesses explaining what they represent and recognising ones own strengths and weaknesses in order to focus on elevating a positive mental outlook and self-healing and well-being, practices to engage in mental and physical well being through Yoga practice for all ages, meditation practice in any time of day to induce calm and relaxation. Participants: an objective to promote social integration and acceptance of differences between communities also builds bridges and understanding between different communities |
