Taking place every two years across East Lancashire in public spaces, galleries & historic buildings, the British Textile Biennial commissions artists to make & present work in the context of the area. The festival is underpinned by a year-round programme of research, residencies & community engagement projects.
Objects: For The Public Benefit To Advance Education In Textiles, Fabric, Cloths, Threads And Yarns And Their Design And Manufacture, In Particular But Not Exclusively By:a) Encouraging Participation And Inclusion At Events, Such As Festivals; Andb) Supporting Organisations And Individuals Engaged In The Provision Of Artistic Activities, Which Take Place Primarily, But Not Exclusively In The Lancashire Region.
