Both the Management Committee and Trustees are mindful of good govemance and the processes required to mitigate the risks associated with delivering search and rescue capabilities.. from Ihe wellbeing of our members lo affording high quallty care to a missing vulnerable p8rson. Accordingly we have developed risk management policies on a wlde rang8 of Matte lo ensure consistency and understanding of procedures and protocols. Each Section Leader has Mpleted a risk assessment of their particular specialism and shared these vlews wlth leadership along with aclions agreed to mitigate the associated risk. We have a cyGllcal programme of revlewing wr pollcies and procedures which is ultimatdy ratrfied by the Trustees. We run an annual recruitment and onboarding program for new volunteers to ensure a high level of operational msponsiveness to callouts. All members are reglstered on Surrey Search & R&scug database, D4H and UK Lowland Rescue database (AMS). Our Irainlng programme ¢onllnues to bg 8nhanced to ensure op8ratlonal compelence and resilience. During 2024 members gained qualific8tlons n Search Planning. To promote stronger Ilnks wsthin our membershlp, we developed dashboards to communicate our activities and progress, hosted team social events and adopted the Trauma Risk Management (TRIM} program wlth eight practitioners trained to risk assess and support our members where a search has been tr8umatic.
