A str8tegic rfsk framewofk was developed in 2024 drawing upon Ihe
individual Section strategies and has helped shaped our three year
strat89ic direction12025-27}.
We work closely with SU￿eY Police who requesl our support through the
deslgnated POISA (Polic9 Search Advisor)- Periodically we might support
other a9encies such as Surrey Fire Service and DEFRA in Ihg event
support is required. We also work alongside neighbouring search teams,
be that supported their searches or vice versa.

Both the Management Committee and Trustees are mindful of good
govemance and the processes required to mitigate the risks associated
with delivering search and rescue capabilities.. from Ihe wellbeing of our
members lo affording high quallty care to a missing vulnerable p8rson.
Accordingly we have developed risk management policies on a wlde
rang8 of Matte￿ lo ensure consistency and understanding of procedures
and protocols. Each Section Leader has ￿Mpleted a risk assessment of
their particular specialism and shared these vlews wlth leadership along
with aclions agreed to mitigate the associated risk.
We have a cyGllcal programme of revlewing wr pollcies and procedures
which is ultimatdy ratrfied by the Trustees. During 2024 th8 followlng

The provision of education and advi￿ to su¢h parthers and the general
public in all matters relating to search and rescue.
During 2024 we continued our support lo the local community responding
to incidents across Sutrey and noighbourfng countles Includlng London,
Berkshlre and Sussex.
We run an annual recruitment and onboarding program for new
volunteers to ensure a high level of operational msponsiveness to
callouts. All members are reglstered on Surrey Search & R&scug
database, D4H and UK Lowland Rescue database (AMS).
Our Irainlng programme ¢onllnues to bg 8nhanced to ensure op8ratlonal
compelence and resilience. During 2024 members gained qualific8tlons
n Search Planning. Search Team Leadership, FREC3 (m8di¢al}, Swift
Water Resctje and TRIM. Wè also have four leam members who are

Our peak activlty Is unpredSctable and can vary seasonally. We ar8
8eeing a tr&nd toward lower callouts over the summer months, with

ygar. During 2024 our busl8st months were April15 calloulsl, October {6),
Novemb8r141 and December141. We collect data relating to each sea￿h
and provide anonymised monthly summarles to both ¢)ur members and
pathers such as Surrey Pollce.
We h8ve also slrenglhened our IT & Data capab¢lities wlth the
deploymenl of SARSYS, the search planning and tracking tool develop8d
by SAR colleagues In Kent.
To promote stronger Ilnks wsthin our membershlp, we developed
dashboards to communicate our activities and progress, hosted team
social events and adopted the Trauma Risk Management (TRIM}
program wlth eight practitioners trained to risk assess and support our
members where a search has been tr8umatic.

We have an Income Generab'on & Fundraislng team responsible for
coordinatlng our approach to applying for grants to fvnd the charity's
operation. During 2024 we received grants from corporate and public
organisalions as well as funding from individuals.
We have a defined poli¢y on finan¢ial reserves along with a financial plan
for the fiscal year. Our reserves are set at 12 months operational cost of
running the charity.
